KNEC Releases 2023 Examination Dates For Teachers

The registration period for applicants for the 2023 teachers’ education tests has been extended to Friday, January 20, according to an announcement from the Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC).

KNEC provided a list of the exams interested teachers can sign up for in the academic year 2023 in a statement dated Friday, January 13, 2023.

These teacher education exams are professional tests given to those looking to enter the teaching field at various levels.

List Of Exams

Exams include the Teacher Certificate for Adult Education (TCAE), the Upgrade Diploma in Primary Education (UDPTE), the Upgrade Diploma in Early Childhood Teacher Education (UDECTE), the Primary Teacher Education Certificate (PTE) for candidates who were referred in prior years, and others.

Others include the Early Childhood Development Education (ECDE) Diploma and Certificate, the Diploma in Special Education, and the Diploma in Teacher Education (DTE)

Students who want to specialize in early childhood education take ECDE tests.

After passing the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) test, candidates who want to teach at the primary school level enroll in the Primary Teacher Education (PTE), a two-year program.

Every student who completes the program is given a certificate in primary teacher education.

In contrast, students who want to teach at an adult education center after passing the KCSE exam must complete the two-year Teacher Certificate for Adult Education(TCAE) examination course, which is given to qualified applicants in Kenya by the Directorate of Adult and Continuing Education in the Ministry of Education On behalf of KNEC,

All interested teachers were advised to register before the deadline.
