East African Breweries Limited (EABL) has issued an apology following significant disruptions during the second day of the Walker Town Nairobi 2024 festival.

The company cited unforeseen technical challenges exacerbated by inclement weather conditions, which led to delays and the eventual cancellation of key performances.

In a statement released on September 30, 2024, EABL acknowledged that heavy rain and technical difficulties with the sound system severely impacted the event, causing delays to headline performances, including the delayed appearance of international artist Lauryn Hill. Moreover, the cancellation of brand partner Nyashinski’s highly anticipated performance further affected the festival experience.

“We sincerely apologize to all our valued festival-goers, suppliers, artistes, and stakeholders for the disruptions experienced during day two of the Walker Town festival,” read the statement. EABL emphasized its regret over the situation, noting the brand’s commitment to delivering a high-quality experience.

In response to the setbacks, EABL announced a full refund for all ticket holders affected by the second day’s disruptions. “We will be issuing a 100% refund to all ticket holders for Day Two of the Walker Town 2024 Festival within the next two weeks,” the statement confirmed. This move, according to the company, reflects their commitment to fairness and respect for the trust placed in them by festival-goers.

EABL extended its apologies not only to the audience but also to the artists and partners whose performances were disrupted, expressing a commitment to learning from the challenges faced this year. The company concluded by thanking attendees for their understanding and support.
