Institute of Export and International Trade (IOE&IT), a trade body based in Peterborough, United Kingdom (UK), has launched its first office in Nairobi, Kenya, through an agreement signed under the UK-Kenya Economic Partnership. The Nairobi office will also serve as an extension in Africa. The main aims will focus mainly on trading and training.

The institute has progressed and delivered training, education, and consultation services within African countries like Kenya, Ghana, and Nigeria. The Institute’s Director General, Marco Forgione, explained that they expect to implement their knowledge and experience to support Africa’s entrepreneurs in growing their intra-African and international trade. The launch of the event was at the Deputy British High Commissioner’s Residence, and in attendance was Josephine Gauld, who serves as the Deputy British High Commissioner to Kenya and Permanent Representative to the UNEP and UN Habitat.

Alongside partnering with the Kenya Export Promotion and Banding Agency, the Institute has also entered into dealerships with the Ghana Export Promotion Authority and the Nigerian Export Promotion Council. It has also developed a digital supply chain infrastructure through cooperation with Trademark Africa and the IOTA Foundation. IOE&IT has also led a syndicate of skilled technology, logistics, traders, and supporting partners to execute improvements on supply chain processes within International markets, with a major focus on Kenya and Africa as a whole.
