Auditor-General of Kenya advertises 30 Senior Auditor positions for public sector oversight

The Office of the Auditor-General (OAG) of Kenya has advertised 30 positions for Senior Auditors at grade OAG 6, as part of its mandate to enhance accountability in the public sector.

According to the vacancy announcement, the OAG is seeking to recruit “qualified and competent staff” in line with Article 252 (1) (c) of the Constitution. The office plays a crucial role in overseeing the use of public resources across Kenya’s three arms of government.

“The Office of the Auditor-General (OAG) is an Independent Office established under Article 229 of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010,” states the notice, emphasizing its constitutional mandate in public accountability.

The recruitment process will be conducted entirely through digital channels, with the notice clearly stating that “all applications must be emailed to the email address provided. No physical / paper applications will be accepted.”

Applicants must submit several key documents with their applications, including:

  • Application form indicating the position details and personal information
  • Academic and professional certificates
  • Other relevant testimonials

The deadline for submissions is set for October 18, 2024, with applicants directed to the OAG website (www.oagkenya.go.ke) for additional position details.

The notice includes a strong warning regarding the submission of false information: “It is a criminal offence to provide false information and documents in the job applications. The Office shall take appropriate action on any applicant who shall be found to have presented false information and/ or documents.”

The OAG emphasizes its commitment to equal opportunity employment, stating in the notice that it “is an equal opportunity employer and seeks to have diversity in the workforce in line with the Constitution.”
