Nairobi City County and Safaricom have partnered to digitize the county’s operations and services.
In accordance with the agreement, Safaricom will create and provide support for the “My Nairobi App” as a component of the “My Nairobi” hub, which offers digital services and encourages citizen interaction.
The “My Nairobi” hub will also be accessible via other digital platforms, such as a website, the M-PESA Super App, and a USSD shortcode for users of feature phones.
The hub will also have a “Bonga na Sakaja” interaction channel that will allow Nairobi residents to interact with the county and provide feedback on how services could be improved.

“This My Nairobi Hub will enable us to offer better services to the people of Nairobi. It offers a one-stop shop for Nairobi County residents and visitors to access services with multiple functionalities including making payments. Our partnership with Safaricom will usher in a better experience not only in revenue aspects but real-time communication,” said Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja.
In addition, the partnership will help the county better integrate with its other partners, including the Kenya Medical Supply Authority, and find ways to offer healthcare for low-income residents.
Additional solutions in the collaborations include integrated traffic and parking management, smart water systems for the smart city effort, WiFi hotspots around bus stops and in low-income neighborhoods, and a disaster recovery site for the county.
