President William Ruto is set to travel to Dubai on Monday, February 12, to participate in the World Government Summit (WGS). He has been invited to deliver a 10-minute address on government acceleration and transformation.

The speech, slated for 10:30 to 10:40 am on Tuesday, February 13, will take place at the 1.0 Plenary Hall. The theme for WGS 2023 is “Shaping Future Governments,” aiming to engage various governments, international organizers, and leaders in discussions.

President Ruto, alongside President Évariste Ndayishimiye of Burundi and President Ahmed Tinubu, participated in COP28 events in Dubai on December 2, 2023, emphasizing international cooperation to tackle future challenges. WGS anticipates that the summit will inspire and equip the next generation of governments.

The event commenced on Sunday, February 11, with an opening session led by Kristalina Georgieva, Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund, and Fahad AlTurki, Director General Chairman of the Board of the Arab Monetary Fund. Mohamed AlHussaini, UAE Minister of State for Financial Affairs, also participated.
