The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) has served Apostle James Ng’ang’a of Neno Evangelism a blow after it listed the land in which his church is built among plots it is seeking to recover.

Among the listed parcels is a 0.2766 parcel LR. No. 209/9640, which is valued at KES 480 million. The current owner of the land parcel is Neno Evangelism Center Registered Trustees, which is led by the Pastor Ng’ang’a.

Additionally, EACC listed another land parcel valued at KES 30 million which measures 0.0253 hectares. The parcel LR. No. 209/12361 is also owned by Ng’ang’a and was part of the parcel surrendered to the government by KRC in 1960 for the construction of a flyover.

The land was part of the parcel that the Kenya Railways Corporation (KRC) surrendered to the government for the construction of the Post and Telecommunication Headquarters back in 1953.

The Ethics body alleges that the land was fraudulently transferred by the then Commissioner of Lands to Neno Evangelism Center.

The Anti-Corruption body is pursuing four lawsuits against former Land Commissioners and private entities for the recovery of five parcels of land within the Nairobi Central Business District (CBD)

EACC stated that the land in question was unlawfully transferred or assigned to the defendants without adhering to proper procedures. In its legal action, the commission also sought mesne profits totaling KES 1.6 billion for the unauthorized utilization of the mentioned parcels by the defendants.

The defendants include Pastor Ng’ang’a of Neno Evangelism Center Church, Arts 680 Limited, Rubis Energy (formerly Kobil Petroleum), and Lima Limited as defendants in the lawsuits.
