The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) has arraigned ten Ol Kalou Constituency NG-CDF officials and private company directors before the Nyahururu Anti-Corruption Court.

The suspects are accused of embezzling a staggering KES 55.8 million intended for road projects in the constituency, which were never executed.

The EACC’s move comes after the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) concurred with the Commission’s recommendations to charge the suspects with 16 counts of corruption and economic crimes.

The suspects, including John Kariuki Kimani, Simon Nduati Kariuki, Ludovick Ngera Gachara, Jerush Waithera Wambui, and others, were processed at the EACC Nyeri Regional Offices on Friday, May 3rd, 2024.

The arraignment follows a thorough investigation by the EACC, which uncovered evidence of the alleged embezzlement scheme.

According to the Commission, the suspects allegedly colluded to siphon funds intended for road construction projects in Ol Kalou Constituency, leaving the local community without the promised infrastructure improvements.

EACC has vowed to continue its efforts to combat corruption at all levels, emphasizing the importance of maintaining public trust and ensuring the effective utilization of taxpayer funds.
