East African mobility company Treepz, has announced the extension of its operations to Kenya. The mobility firm will begin operating in Kenya after starting in Ghana and Uganda.

With its new debut in Kenya, its operational services will be accessible in Nairobi and, later, Mombasa. The team will be led by Mr. Samar Patel, the new country manager for Kenya.

Mr. Patel has 18 years of experience in sales, transportation, and technology. He previously held a similar job at SWVL Kenya.

“Today, our efforts are focused on building a centralized solution across the 4 countries we operate in and providing Africans with excellent mobility services, for their personal and business needs.

Over the past year, the ride-hailing business raised $1.2 million, some of which were utilized to expand into Kenya.

This major win for Treepz comes just after the company celebrated its third anniversary, and it followed numerous other investments made recently, including those from the GIIG Africa Fund, MoAngels, Roselake VC, Unpopular VC, Goodwater Capital, and BKR Capital.

During its third anniversary celebration, the company announced intentions to establish Business Treepz, a new service designed to provide structured, approachable, and consistent bus rental services to businesses, educational institutions, tour operators, and private individuals.

The transportation company began operations on September 16, 2019, when its e-hailing app went online in Lagos, Nigeria. Just a few weeks after receiving $1.2 million in early funding.

It rebranded from PlentyWaka to Treepz. As part of its expansion goals, it also bought Ghanaian Stabus at the same time, in September 2021.
