Law Society of Kenya members (LSK) are presently engaged in nationwide demonstrations in response to comments made by President William Ruto regarding the judiciary.

While rallying on the streets of Nairobi with placards, these legal professionals emphasized the importance of the president respecting the judiciary and its authority. Notably, vocal advocate Ndegwa Njiru, in unison with fellow lawyers, was heard chanting the slogan ‘mambo ni matatu’ during the demonstration.

“Mambo ni matatu, heshimu mahakama, heshimu sheria ama uende nyumbani,” Ndegwa asserted.

This loosely translates to ” There are three conditions: respect the courts, respect the law, or go home.”

LSK president Eric Theuri called on members to don purple ribbons throughout the coming week and join in the peaceful protests countrywide that will be organized by the society in support of the rule of law and solidarity with the judiciary.
