he Kenya Meteorological Department has released a weather forecast predicting rainfall in several regions across the country over the next seven days. According to the forecast, areas such as Western Kenya, the Central Highlands, and the Lake Victoria Basin will experience rainfall. The affected regions include Nandi, Kakamega, Vihiga, Bungoma, Siaya, Busia, Nakuru, Trans-Nzoia, Kisii, Nyamira, Kericho, Bomet, Kisumu, Homa Bay, Migori, and Narok, which cover parts of Western Kenya, the Central and South Rift Valley.

The Central Highlands, including counties like Nyandarua, Nyeri, Laikipia, Kirinyaga, Murang’a, Kiambu, Meru, Embu, Tharaka-Nithi, and Nairobi, will also see rainfall. Additionally, the South-Eastern lowlands such as Machakos, Kitui, Makueni, Kajiado, and Taita-Taveta, as well as the coastal areas including Mombasa, Kilifi, Lamu, Kwale, and Tana River, are expected to receive showers.

While these regions will experience rainfall, the North-Eastern and North-Western parts of Kenya are likely to remain dry and sunny. The forecast also highlights varying temperatures across the country. Daytime highs in the coastal, North-Eastern, and North-Western regions are expected to surpass 30°C, offering a hot and sunny environment in those areas.

In contrast, parts of Western Kenya, the Central Highlands, and the Central and North Rift Valley will likely experience unusually low nighttime temperatures, potentially dropping below 10°C. This variation in temperatures and rainfall patterns is expected to continue for the coming week, impacting daily activities in the affected areas.

Kenya Meteorological Department advises the public to stay prepared for changing weather conditions and to monitor updates for any changes in the forecast. These weather shifts are particularly important for agricultural activities, as rainfall can influence crop growth and the overall economy. The department urges all to take necessary precautions during the rainy days, especially in regions experiencing colder nights.
