Investigators from the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) have conducted a search at the residence of former Treasury Cabinet Secretary Ukur Yatani as part of an inquiry into suspected corruption.

Yatani, who previously held the position of Governor for Marsabit County, is presently in the custody of EACC investigators. He is scheduled to undergo questioning regarding his alleged participation in a graft scheme worth billions of shillings. Yatani is expected to appear at the EACC Integrity Centre Police Station later this morning.

Simultaneously, the EACC is focusing its attention on the current Governor of Marsabit, Mohamud Mohamed Ali, along with several other high-ranking county officials. They are also being investigated for their suspected involvement in corrupt activities.
