The communication Authority of Kenya Chairperson Gilbert Kibe has announced his resignation.

In a letter to the president, dated Friday, December 2, 2022, Gilbert Kibe stated that his resignation is due to personal reasons

“Due to personal interests that I wish to pursue, I hereby tender my resignation as Chairman of the Board of CAK with effect from 1 December 2022,”

“I take this opportunity to sincerely thank you (President Ruto) for according me the opportunity to serve in this important and strategic regulatory agency for the last seven months,” said Kibe.

Kibe was the Director-General of the Kenya Civil Aviation Authority before joining the Communications Authority of Kenya (KCAA). After nearly eight years in charge, he left the KCAA in February 2022.

Kibe had held the positions of CEO of Nairobi Flight Training Limited and Bahati Ridge Development Limited before joining KCAA.

He has worked in the aviation sector for more than 30 years. Emile Nguza succeeded Kibe as the Director-General of the KCAA in March 2022.
