Newly Appointed KRA Board Directors Sworn In By Judiciary Chief Registrar

Judiciary Chief Registrar Anne Amadi on Wednesday, January 18, 2023, inaugurated the newly appointed KRA Board members.

The appointed directors of the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) Board have been challenged by Judiciary Chief Registrar Anne Amadi to advance the interests of the country in their new positions.

Amadi, who presided over the new board members’ inauguration on Wednesday, January 18, 2023, stated that the individuals appointed to the board have a responsibility to develop policies that will safeguard the nation’s economic stability.

Darshan Shah, Wilkister Simiyu, Fancy Too, Michael Kamau Kamiru, and Samir Ibrahim were appointed to a three-year term on Friday, January 13, 2023

Speaking after their oath, Amadi stated that the task at hand was difficult and that making judgments that would definitely affect Kenyans required sobriety, ethics, and a high level of professionalism.

“It is a heavy responsibility, there are a lot of expectations and the whole institution of KRA will be looking upon you to provide the guidance, to provide the directions and they will directions that will affect the whole country,” she said.

“Whatever you do has an impact on each and every one of us in this country and so it is not a simple task but with our support as judiciary we know it shall be well.” she continued to add.

KRA is responsible for collecting taxes on behalf of the Kenyan government and plays an important part in the country’s economic development.

The new board members will ensure sure that revenue collection goals are reached and that the KRA continues to run smoothly and effectively.
