Adrian Kenya, Strathmore University Team Up To Create Renewable Energy Sources

Adrian Kenya and Strathmore University have inked a deal to work together to develop Kenya’s capability for renewable energy solutions.

Prof. Izael Da Silva, Deputy Vice Chancellor for Research and Innovation at Strathmore University, and Benard W. Njoroge, Group Managing Director of Adrian Group oversaw the signing of the MoU.

Strathmore University and the Adrian Kenya Partnership will work together to improve capacity building in solar energy certification, strengthen leadership capacities, and deliver professional services in renewable energy solutions through their Energy Research Centre.

To supply complete solar PV solutions, spanning the realms of engineering, procurement, construction, and financing (EPCF), Adrian Kenya has established numerous important partners.

The world is increasingly adopting alternative energy sources to manage reliability, environmental sustainability, and cost. This has resulted in the increased penetration of renewable energy solutions in Africa,” Benard W Njoroge, Adrian Group’s Group Managing Director said.

“Strathmore University is the only university with a well-developed energy research centre, and as part of our mandate, we promote the use of green energy, an area Strathmore is well established in. As an institution, we are keen on the aspect of industry collaborations as they catalyse innovation and growth in technology. The signing of this document signifies a collaboration in which Strathmore University provides research and knowledge enhancement while Adrian provides the practical aspect in the deployment of innovative renewable energy solutions in the market,” Prof. Izael Da Silva, Strathmore University’s Deputy Vice Chancellor for Research and Innovation said.

Adrian is an advocate for women in technology, and in this collaboration will provide mentorship opportunities to women enrolled in engineering courses at the Strathmore School of Computing and Engineering Sciences.
