The Trans Nzoia County University Task Force has successfully completed its mandate and is preparing to submit its comprehensive report to Governor George Natembeya in the coming weeks.

Speaking at a press briefing in Kitale , Dr. Helen Yego, the Vice Chairperson of the Task Force, announced that the report incorporates insights from residents across the county and abroad, as well as input from experts and stakeholders in the education sector.

“We have completed the preparation of the report and are eagerly awaiting the day when we can present it to Governor Natembeya,” Dr. Yego stated.

The Task Force praised the residents of Trans Nzoia County for their active participation, which was crucial to the report’s successful completion. Kennedy Etyang, the Chief Officer for Education, commended the Task Force for their dedication despite facing numerous challenges. He assured the public that the Natembeya administration is committed to implementing the report’s recommendations promptly.

Looking forward, Etyang expressed the county’s readiness to move into the next phase, which includes the establishment of a university in Trans Nzoia. “A university will significantly boost education standards in the county and create numerous opportunities for our local population,” Etyang remarked, emphasizing the importance of this long-overdue institution.

The Task Force is composed of a distinguished group of individuals, including Professors Masibo Lumala, Battan Khaemba, Caleb Elung’ata, and Dr. Julie Magomere. Youth representative Hosea Sismat Chemche, Secretary Eliud Wakasiaka Mwichabe, and Alfred Mang’oli Namwitako also played key roles, with Dr. Yego serving as Vice-Chairperson.
