A disturbing account has emerged from Western Kenya, where a new mother alleges that she was subjected to a medical procedure without her informed consent, raising concerns about unethical medical practices in the region.
The incident reportedly took place in a rural hospital, where the woman was administered a solution via drip shortly after giving birth.
In a detailed message circulating on social media, the mother described her experience.
“Just after I got from the labour room, a nurse came and put a drip on me for a solution that looked like iodine claiming I had lost a lot of blood. The solution was supposed to help me gain more blood. I tried to protest but she said they do that to all mothers who have just had babies.”
The situation took a more alarming turn when several nurses, accompanied by clinical officers, entered her room and closely monitored her condition.
“Then suddenly several nurses came with some COs, around 8 people. I was concerned and asked if there was something wrong with me. They said no and were very keen on the flow of the drip, the time taken, and if I experienced any allergic reactions.”
After 30 minutes, the woman was handed a six-page document, which she was urged to sign. The document, as she later discovered, was related to a research trial on folic acid funded by Bill Gates, targeting third-world countries.
“I read the document. A very long document on research and trial of folic acid in some third-world countries funded by Bill Gates. I got angry and asked why they didn’t tell the patients first before injecting them.”
The woman also claims that the hospital continued to monitor her progress, even after she left the facility.
“This is happening throughout western as someone called from Bungoma County Referral Hospital to check on the progress of the tablets. We are being used as guinea pigs in Gates’ experiment without our consent.”
