Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has announced the passing of his elder sister, Leah Wangari Muriuki, in a heartfelt message shared on his Facebook page.
Expressing profound grief, Gachagua revealed that his sister had played a pivotal role in their family, stepping into the position of family head following the demise of their parents.
Gachagua’s post conveyed a deep sense of loss and sorrow, highlighting the significant impact Leah had on both his personal life and the family as a whole.
He emphasized on the difficulty of the entire situation as a top up to the situation in the country. “This is a very difficult week for me as a national leader and a family man. May the Lord heal our nation and families,” he wrote, emphasizing the challenging period he is enduring.
In his tribute, the Deputy President extended his condolences to Leah’s husband, children, and grandchildren, acknowledging the immense void her passing has left in their lives.
He praised Leah for her dedication and the strength she displayed in upholding family values and traditions after their parents’ deaths.
