President William Ruto was awarded Ghana’s highest national honor, the Companion of the Order of the Star of the Volta, at a State banquet on Wednesday evening.

The prestigious recognition highlights Ruto’s commitment to upholding the rule of law and principles of accountability during his tenure.

“President Ruto is an example of a new generation of African leaders who have decided to insist on the application of principles of accountability and due process to all citizens no matter their status in society,” said Ghanaian President Nana Akufo-Addo while conferring the honor.

Akufo-Addo praised Ruto for his unwavering stance on accountability, even in the face of complex political consequences. “Under your leadership, Kenya has become a shining example of a nation governed by the rule of law,” he stated.

Ruto, who assumed office in September 2022, has made anti-corruption efforts a central pillar of his administration.
