Radio presenter Stephen Maunda, popularly known as Shatta Bway, has announced his departure from Radio Citizen following a five-year tenure hosting the WaksTikiTaka show. Expressing gratitude during his final broadcast on Monday, Maunda thanked the show’s loyal audience for their unwavering support throughout the half-decade journey.

“Thank you very much for becoming our family. You have stood by us at every turn. You have propelled us to the top spot for those five years, and we deeply appreciate it,” he conveyed.

Maunda revealed that his decision to leave Radio Citizen was finalized a month prior and had been contemplating the timing of his departure. Reflecting on his departure, he likened it to a bird leaving the nest to embark on a new journey. He acknowledged receiving another opportunity for personal and professional growth in a different domain.

Moreover, Maunda extended gratitude to his colleagues, fellow presenters, and producers for their steadfast support throughout his media career. He specifically mentioned Royal Media Services ICT & Radio Director Fred Afune, Vincent Kimani, Vincent Ateya, and Jeridah Andayi for their contributions.
