The Kenya Urban Roads Authority (KURA) has issued a notice regarding anticipated traffic disruption along James Gichuru Road, commencing Thursday, March 14. This disruption, scheduled as part of routine maintenance activities, is slated to persist until Sunday, March 17.

The Authority has forewarned of significant traffic congestion during the specified period and advises motorists to consider alternative routes.

“We wish to notify the general public that there will be traffic disruption along James Gichuru Road from March 14 to March 17 during night hours,” cautioned KURA.

KURA elucidated that a contracted party has been enlisted to execute necessary repairs along the road, hence the inconvenience. To mitigate disturbances, the contractor will undertake operations during night hours.

“We urge motorists using that route to exercise caution as we endeavor to transform urban mobility,” stated KURA.

James Gichuru Road serves as a crucial artery within the capital, primarily facilitating access to the Central Business District (CBD). Moreover, it serves as a pivotal conduit for motorists traversing to affluent neighborhoods such as Westlands and Parklands.

KURA, mandated with the development of urban roads within the capital, also shoulders responsibilities for the management, rehabilitation, and maintenance of national trunk roads across urban locales within Kenya. Conversely, rural road infrastructure falls under the jurisdiction of the Kenya Rural Roads Authority (KeRRA).

In parallel, the Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) bears the mantle for the development, rehabilitation, management, and maintenance of the nation’s major highways.
