Public Service Cabinet Secretary Moses Kuria criticized televangelist Benny Hinn’s stance on the Middle East conflict on Sunday, Feb 25.

In a statement, the Cabinet Secretary questioned the pastor’s preachings delivered during a crusade attended by President William Ruto and the first family.

CS Kuria accused Benny Hinn, who has both Israeli and Palestinian heritage, of adopting a one-sided view of the conflict that has plagued the region.

Kuria further questioned how this stance was taken, especially considering that the Nyayo crusade where Benny Hinn made the remarks was a quasi-state function.

“Kenya continues to advocate for a cessation of hostilities while expressing solidarity with Israel following the October 7 terror attacks,” remarked Kuria. He added that Kenya supports the rights of the Palestinian people for self-determination.

The pastor, known for his calls for peace in Israel, was born in Jaffa, Israel, in 1952. Baptized in Jerusalem, where he embarked on his journey of faith, the televangelist was born to parents of Greek, Palestinian, and Armenian heritage.
