The Kenya Meteorological Department has issued a warning regarding hot temperatures expected across various counties, including Nairobi and its neighboring regions in Central Kenya. Temperatures are projected to reach 31 degrees Celsius, with Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday anticipated as the hottest days of the week.

Residents have been advised to stay hydrated and protect themselves from the sun’s rays during the day. However, nights are expected to be cold, with temperatures dropping as low as 6 degrees Celsius.

Additionally, high average daytime temperatures above 30°C are forecasted in several other counties, including Turkana, Samburu, Marsabit, Mandera, Wajir, Isiolo, Garissa, Tana River, Lamu, Kilifi, Mombasa, Kwale, Taita Taveta, Kajiado, Makueni, Kitui, Machakos, Nairobi, Kiambu, Embu, Laikipia, and Baringo.

The public is urged to take precautions against heat stress and related discomforts, such as headaches and heat rushes, by staying hydrated and avoiding outdoor activities, particularly during the afternoons.
