Authorities in Kasarani have initiated a probe into the savage killing of a woman within an Airbnb facility situated along Thika Road Mall (TRM).
The victim’s identity, discovered at the crime scene on the morning of Sunday, January 14, 2024, remains undisclosed.
A detective affiliated with the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), involved in the ongoing investigation, revealed that officers are scrutinizing CCTV footage to unravel the sequence of events.
Witnesses reported that certain body parts of the woman had been dismembered and concealed in a paper bag.
Nairobi County police chief, Adamson Bungei, affirmed that investigations into the heinous murder are underway, expressing confidence that the suspect will soon be apprehended.
In a separate incident, occurring just hours earlier, the body of another woman was discovered dumped in a river within Kasarani Sub-County. The victim, found unclothed and tightly bound in a sack, exhibited apparent stab wounds on her neck, according to a police report.
Initially mistaken for discarded luggage, officers uncovered the grim truth of the woman’s remains concealed within the sack along the river coursing through Kasarani, Lucky Summer, towards Githurai. The body has been transported to City Mortuary along Ngong Road, awaiting postmortem examination.
These incidents transpired shortly after the discovery of the lifeless body of Starlet Wahu, found murdered inside an Airbnb a week prior. The primary suspect in Wahu’s murder, identified as John Matara, is currently in police custody as investigations into her death progress.
Several women have also come forward, alleging mistreatment at the hands of Mr. Matara, who reportedly targeted women on dating sites and forcefully extorted money from them.
