The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has reported the arrest of three suspects on Monday night in possession of 196 kgs of bhang, which is said to be worth KES 5.9 million.

According to the DCI, the suspects, Mohammed Bakacha, 34, Harun Mohammed Galgalo, and Ali Abdikadir Mohammed, aged 20 and 22, respectively, were intercepted by a multi-agency operation team after police K-9 at the Archers post at the Samburu County road block discovered the concealed drug.

“Three suspects have been arrested tonight at Archers Post in Samburu County after they were found trafficking 196 kg of bhang concealed beneath sacks of beans,” the DCI stated.

The DCI added that they conducted a thorough search of the vehicle in which the suspects were found and recovered the drugs in 66 bags.
