Former CS Amina Mohamed takes global stage with new key role

Former Cabinet Secretary Amina Mohamed has been admitted into the Inter-peace Governing Board. The Boards main role is to define the overall strategy of the organization. It is also the highest decision making body of the organization.

Inter-peace is an organization that deals with upholding peace and conflict prevention.

“I am truly honoured and grateful to the Governing Board for this appointment and the opportunity to contribute to the work of a highly respected organisation. It is a privilege to be part of a most distinguished team and thankful for your confidence in me,” Ambassador Amina said.

Her specific responsibilities are yet to be known, but with her wealth of Knowledge and experience in diplomacy & international relations, she will contribute immensely to the strategic direction and efforts of the Interpeace in promoting peace globally.

Amina Mohamed has been elected to important international positions and held significant government posts, adding to her distinguished career in both the public and foreign service.

Mohamed has kept off the limelight since the Kenya Kwanza government came into power. In February 2023, she was part of the Commonwealth election observers team sent to Nigeria. The team comprised various personnel including politicians, diplomats, human rights advocates and election administrators.

In August 2023, she was appointed to lead a team of Commonwealth election observers to Zimbabwe for the election on August 23.
