Dr King’ori announces the end of The Wicked Edition on NTV Kenya

The Wicked Edition, Kenya’s longest-running satire show, has bid farewell to NTV Kenya
after seven years of laughter and social commentary.

The show’s creator, producer and writer, Dr King’ori, announced the end of the show’s
partnership with NTV Kenya in a heartfelt statement to the viewers on Friday, January 12,
2024.

He thanked the viewers for their unwavering support, which propelled the show to great
heights, earning it recognition at the prestigious Kalasha Awards and a nomination for the
best performance in TV comedy and the best TV comedy in Kenya for the upcoming 2024
edition.

He also expressed his gratitude to NTV Kenya for being the show’s nurturing home and
providing a platform where creativity was met with opportunity.

“To every member of the creative team, crew and every guest on each episode your
passion and talent have been the cornerstone of our success. Your dedication shone
through each episode of The Wicked Edition that we have shared with the world,” he said.

He added that the show celebrated the resilience and humor of the Kenyan society,
created memories and sparked meaningful conversations.

However, he assured the fans that the show was not ending, but rather embarking on a
new journey of expansion and innovation.

“This journey, while ending with NTV Kenya, is set for a new beginning as we expand our
reach, venture into greater creative endeavors and continue delivering value-laden
content to our fans across East Africa and beyond,” he said.

He invited the fans to join him through the plot twists and promised to keep prescribing
doses of the best medicine, laughter.

He also urged the fans to subscribe to the show’s YouTube channel for more updates.

The Wicked Edition, which aired its first episode on NTV Kenya in 2017, has been a
popular source of satire, comedy and social critique in Kenya, featuring interviews with
various guests, sketches and segments on topical issues.

The show has amassed over 70 million views on YouTube, making it one of the most
watched Kenyan shows online.

The last edition of The Wicked Edition on NTV Kenya aired on Friday, January 12, 2024, at
7:30 pm.
