South African engineering and infrastructure advisory firm Zutari has opened its East African office in Nairobi after receiving registration as a fully licensed company in the country following many years of operating in Kenya. The firm is set to enhance its operations in the East African region by tapping into the region’s infrastructural projects. This comes at a time when Kenya and South Africa are in the process of strengthening their diplomatic relations through engagements between trade ministries from both countries to address trade barriers and boost business opportunities for both countries.

“We are proud of the impact our Nairobi office has unlocked through its many infrastructure feats over multiple decades. These still stand proudly all across Kenya, a testimony to the enduring power of infrastructure to create the kind of change the world needs today, commented Alastair Bush, the country manager of EAC. In this regard, the Zutari consultancy firm aims to grow its presence in the country through partnerships with government agencies such as the Kenya National Highways Agency (KeNHA), Kenya Rural Roads Authority (KeRRA), and Kenya Urban Roads Authority (KURA) to enhance the growth of the infrastructural sector in the country.

The consulting firm has been involved in several successful projects in the country, such as the Two Rivers Mall, Kenya Water Security, and Climate Resilience Projects.

Zutari plans to diversify its operations by harnessing the power of water, transport, energy, resources, and built-environment infrastructure to create growth and prosperity in the East Africa region, based on its established Kenyan office in Nairobi. The firm’s management acknowledged the city’s famed natural beauty and potential for growth, citing that it provides an incentive to focus on long-term sustainable development, which will see a prosperous future.
