President William Ruto announced a major overhaul of the cabinet and government ministries on Wednesday, appointing new leaders to realign portfolios and optimize performance.

In a press statement, Head of Public Service Felix Koskei said Ruto exercised his presidential authority under the constitution to reorganize the executive branch.

“The head of state and government’s executive action realigns ministries, state departments, and Kenya’s foreign service to optimize performance and enhance service delivery as set out in the administration’s manifesto under the Bottom Up Economic Transformation Agenda,” Koskei said.

Under the changes, the Office of the Prime Cabinet Secretary led by Musalia Mudavadi will absorb the Ministry of Foreign and Diaspora Affairs.
