The National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) has asked motorists to validate their e-Citizen credentials, as all services will be accessed via the e-Citizen portal from January next year.
According to NTSA, it will shut down the Transport Integrated Management System (TIMS) portal from Friday midnight, December 29, to Monday, January 1.
President William Ruto, in his Jamuhuri Day speech, called for all government services to be integrated into e-citizens. Cabinet Secretaries have been given until December 31 to have all government services on e-Citizen.
“All clients with pending transactions on the TIMS platform are therefore required to complete their applications by Friday, December 15, 2023, to avoid any inconveniences,” the authority noted.
Only e-citizen usernames and passwords will be used to access NTSA services by January 2, 2024. People who transact on behalf of organizations will be required to log into their e-citizen portals and then add the KRA pin of their specific organization.
The secretary to the Cabinet, Mercy Wanjau, called upon all the Cabinet Secretaries to ensure the public is well informed on the 16,000 services expected to be onboarded on the e-Citizen online platform as they prioritize beating the deadline.
Following this announcement, NTSA will undertake virtual trainings and demonstrations from December 18th to 22nd to help familiarize clients with the service flows.
This move is aimed at clearing the current backlog in the printing of driving licenses, log books, and digital number plates. They are also expected to notify Kenyans of their nearest collection points.
