The Kenya Civil Aviation Authority (KCAA) board has appointed Mr Nicholas Bodo, a Ministry of Transport executive, as the acting Director-General.

Mr Nicholas Bodo, who currently serves as the Director of Air Services at the Ministry of Transport takes over the role, pending the hearing of a suit challenging the appointment of Mr Emile Nguza Arao.

Mr Arao is a former boss of the East African Civil Aviation Safety and Security Oversight Agency (EAC-Cassoa) where he has been accused of of incompetence and misuse of finances at Cassoa after the East African Legislative Assembly.

Arao was also accused of misusing public funds through questionable and excessive administrative and consultancy expenses, payments of staff education allowances, travel costs and issues of improper running of the body.
