Nairobi CBD sees protests with coffins honoring victims

Today, young Kenyans took to the streets once again in a series of anti-government protests. The demonstrations have been ongoing for two weeks, and the police had to pull back in areas like Kangemi as the protests grew more intense.

In Nairobi CBD, protesters marched carrying coffins to honor those who have been killed during the protests. The coffins served as a powerful symbol of the lives lost over the past two weeks and a reminder of the serious issues behind the demonstrations.

The protests have been marked by the chant “Ruto Must Go,” calling for President William Ruto to step down. This chant has been heard in different parts of the country, showing that many young people are frustrated with the government’s actions and decisions.

Police have been using tear gas to try to stop the protesters, but this has only made the situation more tense. The use of tear gas has become a regular part of the protests, showing the high level of conflict between the protesters and the police.

As the protests continue, the government is under increasing pressure to address the concerns of the people. President Ruto is expected to speak about these issues in a Twitter Space later this week, where he will try to respond to the grievances of the leaderless protest movement.
