Miguna slams Ruto’s leadership, calls for accountability

Lawyer Miguna Miguna has once again slammed President William Ruto’s leadership, questioning his governance since he assumed office.

Through a statement on X, formerly known as Twitter, Miguna urged Kenyans not to make excuses for Ruto’s government. He further stated that the Kenya Kwanza government has failed its people and made them hopeless after failing to fulfill their promises to Kenyans.

”Most Kenyans have rejected the excuses being peddled as the basis for the refusal to charge, try, and jail culprits—and recover all the looted public wealth! The refusal to repatriate and restore trillions of shillings of plundered public wealth and use it to create jobs, build infrastructure, industrialize, pay off debt, and eradicate poverty will make the people (especially those who voted for the administration) stop supporting those in power and to start mobilizing for the next phase of the struggle,” he said.

“If the administration wastes the first 100 days by appointing incompetent, corrupt officials and those tribally affiliated with those at the apex, the majority of the people will lose hope and see only more of the past 60 years of retrogression, tribalism, and corruption as the most probable outcome in the next 4 years,” Miguna added.

Continuing his spiel, Miguna alluded to Ruto appointing incompetent and corrupt individuals who, according to him, have contributed to the failures of the government.

“Ruto appointed Japhet Koome, he appointed the DCI, and he appointed the DPP. They were all appointed without a competitive hiring process. I say that without fear of contradiction because these are not the best candidates in our country for anything,” Miguna further said.

Miguna claimed President William Ruto has failed to honor the promise he made to him.

“I feel betrayed that after five years of persecution, this government doesn’t seem to know that justice delayed is justice denied. I have been denied justice for so long,” Miguna said.

He further urged the government to step up and make amends in accordance with their manifesto.
