Miguna Miguna has denied backing President William Ruto in order to secure his return to Kenya. Miguna further stated that he never lost his rights as a Kenyan citizen.

In a statement on X, formerly known as Twitter, Miguna asserted that his return to the country was not a gift and that he was exercising his rights without fear.

“I’m married to one woman. The delusional idea or thought that I supported William Ruto in exchange for returning to my motherland is a sick joke that must be rejected,” Miguna tweeted.

According to a local daily, Ruto and Miguna’s marriage” ended because of the lawyer’s recent criticism of the Kenya Kwanza administration.

Miguna spent more than four years in exile before making her way back to Kenya on October 20, 2022, after President Ruto took power on September 13.

Miguna was deported by retired President Uhuru Kenyatta’s administration following fiercely contested elections in which Miguna backed Raila Odinga.

When Miguna arrived at the JKIA, he thanked Ruto and the judiciary as well as all the Kenyans who had supported him, saying, “Without this administration, I would not be back home.”
