Liquid Intelligent Technologies (formerly Liquid Telecom) has launched a new security feature dubbed Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) Secure, aimed at defending its clients from cyber-related assaults.

With its new security feature, the company owned by Cassava Technologies hopes to prevent any hostile attempts by recognized online criminals to obstruct legitimate traffic to its servers.

Ahmad Mokhles, CEO of Liquid Networks, said that cyberattacks pose a severe risk to the continent’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and that companies in Africa cannot afford to operate without safeguarding their systems against intrusion and harmful assaults.

In regions where it operates across Africa, Liquid Networks is providing the service to all potential Internet and Internet Protocol (IP) transit clients in addition to its current clients. In addition to the growth and partnerships they will receive by becoming DDoS compliant, the new launch will guarantee the security of individuals utilizing it, preserving their reputation, money, and network.

Aside from keeping its clients informed about any attempted attacks through post-incident reports, DDoS Secure also keeps an eye out for and stops an attack before it even gets to a client’s network. A recent TechCabal analysis suggests that because African organizations do not prioritize cyber security, the region loses almost Ksh481.2 billion every year to cyber-related crimes.
