The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) has launched an application portal for students seeking enrollment in degree, diploma, and certificate programs offered by universities and colleges.
In a notice issued Thursday, KUCCPS announced that applications should be submitted through the student portal at student.kuccps.net.
Upon accessing the student portal, learners will be prompted to input their KCSE Index Number, KCSE Year, and Password. Students have been advised to use their Birth Certificate Number or KCPE Number (used in KCSE Exam Registration) as the initial password.
The application is open to students interested in joining universities, TVET institutions, Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC), Teachers Training Colleges (TTC), and the Open University of Kenya (OUK).
The portal will remain open until February 20, with students urged to apply early. This opportunity is available to KCSE class of 2023 candidates as well as Form 4 graduates from 2000 to 2022.
There are thirty-nine public universities eligible for government scholarships and a Higher Education Loans Board (HELB) loan. Notably, students opting for courses at private universities will qualify for HELB loans exclusively.
There are 237 public colleges, and according to KUCCPS, students applying for diploma courses at these institutions will be eligible for Government Scholarships and HELB loans.
Courses available for KCSE students include degree, diploma, certificate, and artisan (level 4 programs). Degree programs are reserved for students who scored C+ and above
