The Kenya Rugby Union (KRU) has revealed the comeback of the Rugby Super Series (RSS) following a ten-year absence. In a ground-breaking decision, the 2024 Rugby Super Series will mark the inclusion of two Women’s teams for the first time since its establishment in 2003, emphasizing inclusivity and growth within the sport.

Set to take place over four Saturdays in May 2024, with matches rotating between Nairobi, Nakuru, and Kakamega, the event will showcase four men’s and two women’s teams.

Men’s teams, representing Kenya Cup Clubs, include Buffaloes, Cheetahs, Lions, and Rhinos, while Women’s teams will be part of the National Lionesses’ squad, competing as Eagles & Jaguars.

The Men’s Format will entail each team playing against the others across the first three match days at different venues, with the top two teams progressing to the final. Women’s matches will be held in Nairobi, with the winners determined by aggregate scores over two games.
