Kenya Railways unveils luxury coaches for premium class service

Kenya Railways has taken a significant step to elevate rail travel, confirming the arrival of four new Premium Class coaches at the Port of Mombasa.

This consignment is part of a broader shipment that includes ten economy-class coaches, one dining car, one power car, and four first-class coaches, all aimed at enhancing the overall travel experience.

“The much-awaited Premium Class coaches are here,” announced Kenya Railways. “The offloading is currently taking place at the Port of Mombasa.”

Although specific dates and routes for the new luxury service remain unconfirmed, Kenya Railways assured passengers that preparations are nearing completion. “We understand your eagerness for more information. We are in the final stages of preparation and will share specific timelines soon. Your understanding is greatly appreciated, and we’ll keep you updated,” the company stated.

Designed to accommodate 28 passengers per coach, the Premium Class Service promises an unparalleled journey marked by comfort and exclusivity. Each coach provides ample legroom and personal space, with seats designed to recline for ultimate relaxation. Additional features include extra storage options for travelers with additional baggage and designated shoe storage spaces.

Enhancing the luxury experience, the coaches are equipped with automated window shutters and seats that can rotate to face any direction, allowing passengers to tailor their journey to their preferences. The Premium Class coaches are segregated from other compartments, ensuring privacy and exclusivity for passengers to work, relax, or enjoy the scenic views.

Beyond onboard amenities, Premium Class passengers will benefit from access to VIP lounges and priority boarding and disembarkation at terminals. These features are designed to enhance the overall convenience and luxury of the travel experience.
