Nominated Member of Parliament Sabina Chege has attributed Jubilee’s persistent challenges to the party’s Secretary General, Jeremiah Kioni.

During an interview with a media outlet in Kenya, the MP asserted that Jubilee lacks effective leadership. She mentioned that in February, the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the Jubilee Party convened to discuss a change in leadership. However, their efforts were thwarted when Kioni appealed the ousting in the High Court.

“Jeremiah Kioni is not our political party leader; he did not represent us…. Even if he were the Secretary General of our party, he cannot simply present our issues without consulting with us,” Sabina Chege stated.

Sabina Chege also criticized former President Uhuru Kenyatta for actively engaging in political party activities. She added that a former president benefiting from the current government should refrain from participating in any political party and instead serve as a government advisor.
