Jambojet, Kenya’s low-cost carrier, has launched a new route connecting Mombasa to Zanzibar, marking a significant expansion of its network. The new service, inaugurated yesterday, aims to enhance tourism, trade, and cultural exchange between the two iconic coastal destinations, aligning with East Africa Vision 2050.

The route will operate four times a week, with flights on Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday. Departures from Mombasa are scheduled at 3:35 PM, arriving in Zanzibar at 4:30 PM. Return flights will depart Zanzibar at 5:10 PM, arriving back in Mombasa at 6:05 PM. The route will be serviced by the De Havilland Dash 8-400 aircraft.

Jambojet’s Managing Director and CEO, Mr. Karanja Ndegwa, emphasized the airline’s commitment to providing quality service at affordable rates. “Jambojet is committed to providing outstanding service at competitive rates. Our new route fares start from KES 24,420 for a round trip. We aim to make air travel accessible to everyone,” he said.

This strategic move not only enriches Jambojet’s secondary hub in Mombasa but also supports the broader goals of East Africa Vision 2050, which seeks to foster regional integration and economic development. The new route is expected to boost tourism between Kenya and Tanzania, offering more travel options for leisure and business travelers alike.
