With the ongoing Azimio One Kenya protests, yesterday I decided to watch the News while having my supper. And the impressions I felt watching what transpired during the day was just nothing but disgust and disappointment!
“Where is our country heading to? Is this politics or personal fights between two of the most politically powerful men in Kenya? How are we going to fix this ailing economy during this outrageous political environment?” These are some of the questions that popped in my thoughts.
Seemingly, the protests have now taken a new turn. Some people, or goons, are taking advantage of the picketing to destroy property and loot. How ironical is it that the same customers you serve in your retail outlet are the same stealing from you?
In fact, there are three events that really stood out to me. One, the goons who threw stones at Raila’s Spectre company, the ones who raided Uhuru’s Northland, stole the sheep and set in on fire, and the attack on the innocent journalists. One would be left wondering how all these targeted attacks will solve our problems.
The thing is, we need to contain and control our political environment. Kenyans need to stand out and condemn this political fight regardless of their political affiliations. When all is said and done, all we have is each other. Your relationship with your neighbor is more important than your political affiliation.

On the other hand, I would want to pose a question to both the government and the opposition, Don’t you think that Kenya is greater than your political differences? People are dying of hunger while others are dying by bullets, the economy is deteriorating, and poverty has now become a common enemy.
The leaders should adopt all possible ways to solve the issues at hand and end the protests immediately. This is not the right time for what’s trending in the country.
