The Inspector General of Police Hillary Mutyambai has exited the office on medical grounds, according to President William Ruto.

Speaking to the media at the statehouse on Tuesday, September 27, 2022, President Ruto mentioned that he had accepted the request of Mutyambai to proceed on an early 6-month terminal leave following health Complications.

“After discussions with Mutyambai and in consideration of his service to the nation and his health, I have accepted that he will proceed on terminal leave in the six months that he has on his contract,” said Ruto.

President Ruto also stated that his office had also received resignation letters from the Director General Of Criminal Investigations George Kinoti and directed the head of public service to make new appointments following his resignation.

“I have also received the resignation of DCI Kinoti. I have directed the national police service to proceed with advertising that position. Meanwhile, they should get somebody to act in that position,” Ruto stated.

Mutyambai proceeded on sick leave on August 26, 2022 delegating his duties to Deputy IG of police Noor Gabow.
