Ida Odinga’s Bodyguard Shot Dead

The bodyguard of Ida Odinga, wife to Azimio-One Kenya Coalition leader Raila Odinga, has been shot dead.

Nyanza Regional police boss Karanja Muiruri confirmed the incident but provided scanty details stating that he would release a full report later on.

Unconfirmed reports state that Barack Onyango Odour was shot at his home in Riat, Kisumu, at around 4 AM by unknown assailants.

However, according to some sources who sought anonymity, the bodyguard was shot following a confrontation with a known person from the same area.

The suspect is also said to have fled with the guards’ firearm after the incident.

Onyango’s body has been taken to Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referral Hospital mortuary, waiting for postmortem.
