Govt announces 684 job openings in public service

The Public Service Commission (PSC) disclosed 684 job openings spanning multiple ministries and state departments. In a notification released on Tuesday, the PSC revealed that eligible and interested Kenyan individuals have until February 13, 2024, to formally submit their applications.

Job opportunities are available across various government departments, as detailed on the PSC’s website.

The State Department for Internal Security and National Administration is actively looking to fill positions, including at least 22 county commissioners/secretaries of administration and a deputy director for the Kenya School of Adventure and Leadership.

The Immigration and Citizen Services Department has openings for a secretary for Refugee Affairs, Five directors of Civil Registration Services, 17 deputy directors of Civil Registration Services, and 80 assistant directors of Civil Registration Services.

The State Department for Correctional Services – Kenya Prisons Services is recruiting a deputy Commissioner General of Prisons.

In addition, the National Treasury, Livestock Department, and Defence departments are in the process of hiring for various roles, such as Director of General Public Debt Management, Director of Veterinary Services, and Director/Senior Research Fellow/Senior lecturer, respectively.

The State Department for Industry has numerous opportunities, with 135 director and assistant director positions available in various departments.

Furthermore, Public Service and Delivery Management has 43 open positions for interested candidates.

The Labour and Skills Development Department aims to occupy 182 positions across various departments. The State Department for Parliamentary Affairs has disclosed 22 available positions, and the Petroleum Department is actively recruiting for the role of Commissioner for Petroleum.

Within the Mining Department, there are 167 job opportunities spanning different departments. Simultaneously, the State Department for Irrigation is in the process of appointing a Secretary for Land Reclamation, Climate Resilience, and Irrigation Water Management.
