At least four people have been killed, while nine others were injured following a grisly road accident at the Hill Tea Area along Eldoret-Nakuru Road on Monday at 5:00 a.m.
According to the National Police Service, the accident was caused after a matatu belonging to Msamaria Shuttle Limited lost control and got involved in a head-on collision with an oncoming 60-seater bus.
The Matatu was carrying 16 passengers at the time of the accident, which claimed the lives of the driver and three other passengers who died on the spot.
Nine other passengers were seriously injured and are currently receiving treatment at Eldama Ravine Sub-County Referral Hospital. The bodies of the deceased were moved to the same facility.
“We urge motorists and all other road users to exercise extreme caution while on the roads, especially during this rainy season,” the National Police Service said.
