The High Court in Nairobi has issued an order for Former Muranga Governor Mwangi Wa Iria to appear before the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) in preparation for his upcoming court appearance on graft-related charges scheduled for Tuesday.

Justice Nixon Sifuna has directed Wa Iria, along with Jane Waigwe Kani and Solomon Kimani, to cooperate with the EACC and the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) by presenting themselves for fingerprinting and recording statements.

The judge emphasized that during this interim period leading up to their arraignment, they will not face arrest, provided they are accompanied by their legal representatives when attending the EACC.

Earlier attempts to delay their court appearance were temporarily successful when the High Court in Murang’a issued orders preventing their prosecution.
