EPZA appoints new Chief Executive Officer

The Export Processing Zone Authority Management has named Richard Ipero Omelu as its new CEO. Omelu succeeds Aden Hussein, who has been serving in an acting capacity since last year after emerging as the top candidate interviewed for the role.

Omelu,
whose term commences immediately, will
serve
in
the
capacity
on
a
renewable
five-year
term subject
to
performance.

He is the
immediate
former
Director
Strategy, Planning
and
MSE
Coordination
in
Micro
and
Small
Enterprises
Authority
in
the
State
Department
for
MSME
Development, Ministry
of
Cooperatives
and
Micro,
Small
and
Medium
Enterprises Development.

He holds a master’s degree in business administration – Strategic
 Management
from
Moi
University,
Bachelor
of
Arts
Degree
in
Commerce
(Finance
option)
from
The
University
of
Nairobi
and
is a
member
of
the
Institute
of
Risk
Management.
