EABL names Angela Namwakira as new company secretary

East African Breweries Limited (EABL) has officially appointed Angela Namwakira as the new Company Secretary, effective October 24, 2023.

Namwakira, a seasoned corporate governance and legal professional, brings over 15 years of experience to her new role, having served as a Company Secretary for a diverse portfolio of organizations.

EABL, a prominent player in the beverage industry, welcomed Ms. Namwakira’s appointment with, citing her impressive track record in providing corporate governance advisory services and her extensive experience in corporate secretarial practice. Her expertise encompasses areas such as company law, statutory and regulatory compliance, strategic planning, corporate restructuring, and immigration matters.

Angela Namwakira’s educational background includes a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) Degree from the University of Nairobi, where she honed her legal skills. She is also an advocate of the High Court of Kenya and holds credentials as a Certified Secretary and an accredited governance auditor. Moreover, she is a member of the Women on Boards Network (WON), underlining her commitment to diversity and inclusion in the corporate world.

The appointment of Namwakira follows the resignation of Kathryne Maundu, who served as the Company Secretary of EABL until October 23, 2023.
