DSTV and GoTV have unveiled updated subscription fees for their streaming services, requiring Kenyan viewers to pay more for continued access.
In a statement released on March 20, the company notified its customers of the upcoming price adjustments, scheduled to be implemented on April 1st.
The company attributed the new pricing to the prevailing economic conditions, emphasizing their efforts to minimize the extent of the increase.
Both GOtv and DSTV offer diverse programming options, encompassing news, sports, children’s shows, entertainment, and audio content. With multiple packages available, DStv users can now enjoy access to more than 165 channels.
The new prices for DSTV streaming will now be as follows: Lite KES 700, Access (remains the same) KES 1,300, Family KES 2,000, Compact KES 3,700, Compact Plus KES 6,500, Premium KES 10,500 and XtraView KES 1,500 per month.
This is a significant increase of KES 50 for Lite users, KES 150 for Family subscribers, KES 200 for Compact users, KES 300 for Compact Plus subscribers and KES 600 for Premium subscribers.
The prices for GoTV have been revised to: Lite KES 220, Value KES 669, Plus(remains the same) KES 999, Max Sh1499, Supa KES 1999 and Supa Plus KES 3700 per month.
This is an increase for Lite, Value, Max, Supa and Supa Plus subscribers from the current KES 199, KES 649, KES 1449, KES 1899, and KES 3500 respectively.
