Britam Holdings Plc and Voltic Kenya, a technology company offering ticket
automation and parcel management solutions within the transport sector have partnered to
offer a travel insurance service that will see passengers who buy tickets though Voltic’s i-Abiri
booking platform, access a personal accident cover during the duration of their trip at no extra
charge.

The new offering will provide travelers a coverage of Kshs 50,000 on Accidental Medical
Expenses, Kshs 15,000 on Ambulance Services and Kshs 200,000 in the unfortunate case of
accidental death or disability.

This service will see passengers using bus companies such as ENA Coach, Dreamline, Tahmeed,
Randa among others benefit from the partnership.

George Makori, CEO Voltic Kenya said: “Voltic is dedicated to providing passengers and the
entire transport sector with innovative solutions. Apart from just offering our customers a
service moving them from point A to point B, we provide them a value-added service that
provides additional protection in the course of their trip. We are aware of the crucial role that
technology and innovation plays in increasing insurance penetration levels and in critical
sectors of the economy especially the transport sector. Our collaboration with Britam will help
us to address this issue.”

“This partnership with Voltic is well aligned with Britam’s strategy to be a customer centric
organization by serving Kenyans who may not have direct access to insurance solutions.
Through the use of technology and tailoring products to certain customer segments, we are
able to achieve this objective” said Britam’s Head of Telco & Fintech Partnerships, Simon
Wanduga.
